Should the parents of obese children be charged with harming the health of their child?

Yes.

It's the parents giving the child the food.Should the parents of obese children be charged with harming the health of their child?Of course, right after they charge all the parents who are starving their children.Should the parents of obese children be charged with harming the health of their child?
DouchShould the parents of obese children be charged with harming the health of their child? This is a varying question, due to all the different ways the child became obese. It is truly a case-by-case answer.
Lazy parents? or parents that overwork themselves trying to put a roof over their kid's head?

Little boys who don't do **** and waste time at the gym shouldn't judge.Should the parents of obese children be charged with harming the health of their child?not sure.

some children can eat all the junk food in the world and be not obese and the others can eat the same amount (or in some cases less) and be morbidly obese. if there was some law in place then the authorities would need to consider how little exercise the child has done and what they eat NOT the weight of the child. in saying that there is no reason why a child should be obese they have all the energy in the world.Should the parents of obese children be charged with harming the health of their child?
I've seen parents who cook healthy meals overfeed their kids. It's not feeding fast food vs. nutrition, it's about teaching portion control, learning to stop when your full, and not overindulging. If the parent's haven't learned this skill, they won't teach it to their kids.

I eat a LOT of fast food.. and at 5' 8", I weigh 114lbs... so it's not the food, it's the portions. Some people need to learn you don't need the large size of everything!

It's hard to say though as far as it being child endangerment. I think if the child is grossly overweight and the parents either refuse to aknowledge it, or have exhaused all medical probabilities for it and found it's only due to the food intake of the child, then yes, charging them would be a possibility.. but it should be by a case by case basis, and not based on a broad assumption that all overweight kids eat too much and have lazy parents.
Sure.

Just as gym rat parents should be charged, because we all know that 6 pack abs means that your only priority is you.Should the parents of obese children be charged with harming the health of their child?
If you were to be born with genes that make you store more adipose tissue around the abdomen than the average child should your parents be charged for it?

*edit to add:
Your question was too broad, wide open for interpretations of different positions. By the simple act of being overweight; no they shouldn't be charged. There are people who are healthy and also over weight.

The question should have been, should the parents who disregard the health of their children be charged? Then yes I'd agree. Feeding children mcdonalds every day would fall under that category. A child can be thin and unhealthy, while a child who is overweight can be healthy.
Like the children you see on the Maury Show? YES! There is NO reason to give a 2 year old 7 pancakes, 3 eggs and a bowl of cereal for breakfast, just because 'they want it or they will scream'.
A child can be thin and unhealthy, while a child who is overweight can be healthy
Obviously this is a dumb question. Kids don't eat at home all the time. You know they go to school and have the slop they serve in the cafeteria ...most kids won't eat their bagged lunches you pack them.
Why are you worried about it? It's their lives and their children's lives. Don't you have anything better to worry about than asking stupid questions? Why don't you concentrate your "efforts" on extracurricular activities "off the computer" such as starting up a gym or becoming a sponsor for the obese who need help loosing weight? You know people on here, including me, have nothing better to do than sit and answer questions when they should really be working or caring for their families. You realize too by being on here you're contributing to the "fat population," asking questions that keep people coming here, sitting on their computer eating junk food? Have you ever considered answering instead of asking?
Yes
i do think if your over weight you should be placed in a different tax bracket, there is no reason a person should weight over 400 lb,
