I don't think it is legally classified as abuse, but not allowing a child to get help could be very dangerous if not fatal.Is not allowing your child to access help with mental health issues abuse?I firmly believe that if a child has mental health issues it would be negligent of any adult whether they are parent or guardian to deny that child access to help. I realise that too many children are tagged and this can have very negative consequences. On the whole, however, it is far better to know if there is something wrong, get a professional opinion or two or even three if you are not satisfied and, get the child help.



It pays to remember that we have a right to view everything written about us or our children by medical professionals, so if you feel the child has been incorrectly diagnosed it can be challenged.Is not allowing your child to access help with mental health issues abuse?
It could be considered that way, but maybe not legally. Mental issues are just like any other medical issues. It's like denying a diabetic insulin.
