I think the reason he vetoed the bill was because whoever wrote it stuck in some other items that did not pertain to child health insurance. In this case, they should have re-written the bill and tried again. As we have seen with the stimulus fiasco, that is a hard pill to swallow for Congress. 1. The way they wanted to fund the increases.
2. They wanted to expand the program to people making $80,000 a year and to adults up to 25 years old.
Everyone needs to remember, the Democrats never wanted SCHIP anyway.
