Is there anyone out there that have a special needs child with severe mental health and behavior issues?

My 11 year old son was living with his father and he abused him.His father lost custody to the state of CT because he abused our son instead of helping him with his special needs.Now I am in the process of gaining custody of our son but I need support from whom ever can help me with these issues.Is there anyone out there that have a special needs child with severe mental health and behavior issues?Why did the father of your son abuse him. He must not do it. What he must do is, he must understand and accept that his son has a syndrome. But anyway, I have here a list of book review that can help you.
