granddaughter gets rent, job seekers allowance, child benefit etc all paid by government and never worked. i worked from 15 years old without a break in employment, paid tax and stamp up to being 61 and don't get a penny. I quiet agree with you I am retired widowed and ex service have a small amount of savings I get a pension of just over 拢900 a month am in private rented accommodation rent 拢650 a month on top of that I have to live i.e council tax Gas Electricity food etc I applied to local council to get a flat only to be told yes you can go on the list but you will have a very long wait as you are single then I see theses young single mothers come along no father and what to they get told certainly we will put you on the top of the list I get no benefits from the goverment have worked all my life never been unemployed where is the fairness in this it is clear that being retired ex service widowed and living on my pension counts for nothingWhy does granddaughter (18 with child) get everything paid for. i'm 61 retired with ill health and not a penny?Medicaid and benefits because of the child, she may have signed up for housing assistance and went on a list (and gotten the apartment), I'm sure she was on a waiting list for a while to get that, there are also other programs for low income people with children.
