How do you determine a 'Gamer'?

I hate it when people call themselves gamers because they play guitarhero or FIFA world cup.



To you, what makes a gamer a legit gamer?How do you determine a 'Gamer'?Someone who has a lot of knowledge about video games.

Someone who keeps up with the video game business.

Someone who lives and breathes video games.



I don't think the number of games that someone plays determines whether or not he's a gamer. I don't play as many video games as I used to when I was younger. Back then, I have a lot of spare time so it's easy to play games. Now, I just don't have that much time for games, but I still keep up with what's going on in video games.How do you determine a 'Gamer'?
-Anyone who loves to play video games is a gamer.

-Anyone who plays them to the point of having no real social life is a hard core gamer

-Anyone who plays them as a sport to achieve recognition it a competitive gamer aka pro-gamer.

-Anyone who plays them just for fun when there is nothing else to do is a recreational gamer

-Anyone who plays them just to get online and piss others off is an underground gamer aka smaktard.How do you determine a 'Gamer'?you play games on a regular basis. and not just one game, multiple games. FIFA and Guitar Hero are great casual games, but they are not Hardcore. games like Borderlands, Half-life, or Fallout are hardcore.
Someone who plays video/computer games frequently, competitively, and buys things that add to the experience, like expansion packs, downloadable content (DLC), and accessories.

Well, for me the defenition of gamer is an all-round pro at games and is into the latest but still masters classics. Just co you play guitar hero dont mean nothing! games like cod are gamers crack!

A guy/gal who has played the following games at least once and dediccates at least 2 hours a day playing games:

Starcraft

Call of Duty(any except mw2)

Warcraft
somone who chooss games over sports

also plays games every day or most of the week for a few hours

and lays alot of games(and the classics
When they are so addicted they can't stop or when they are making serious money playing.
