Is there any way to transfer your offline gamer profile points to your xboxlive gamertag?

I've had an xbox360 for about 3 months and I just got xboxlive but i dont have the points that i amassed(like 3000 points). i just to know if there is a way to merge the offline with the online so i can use those points.Is there any way to transfer your offline gamer profile points to your xboxlive gamertag?No there isn't, I'm very sorry.
